Provision of micro fleece garments. West Yorkshire Police Authority, on behalf of the Yorkshire & Humber Police Forces, is tendering for the provision of micro-fleece garments. This garment is part of the requirement to move towards a common uniform for the Region. The garments will be worn by uniformed officers whilst undertaking a full range of duties and will form part of a layering system to ensure comfort and warmth. The successful bidder must demonstrate the solution strikes a balance between cost and quality with due consideration to the wearer. DFID India seeks to commission a service provider or a consortium to serve as a research and evaluation partner for up to four years to: (a) Increase understanding of risk, causation, and protective factors for VAW; (b) Identify the most effective interventions that will reduce the incidence of violence and perceived threat of violence experienced by women and girls in Bihar; (c) Advise the Government of Bihar and other partners on scale up of interventions across Bihar. The core of this assignment is to conduct rigorous research and impact evaluation (IE) of selected VAW interventions, individually or combined. This will require formative assessment to understand the nature of violence, designing appropriate interventions and rigorous research to establish most effective interventions and support their scale up across the state. Interventions will be considered effective if they lead to a measurable reduction in the incidence of violence, of fear and perception of violence, are cost effective, and scalable. Key outputs will include: a coherent body of evidence based new knowledge that makes a significant contribution to the understanding of VAW in India and globally; identification and implementation at scale of the most promising interventions (individually and/or in combination) for reducing incidence of VAW within Bihar's social, economic and institutional environment; and a range of high quality peer reviewed articles in relevant national and international journals.
