NL-Haarlem: parts of railway or tramway locomotives or rolling stock; railways traffic-control equipment
Electromagnetic brakes ICMm-1/2. NedTrain intends, in fulfilment of an order by NS, to establish a framework agreement to cover the supply of electromagnetic brakes with a first delivery of electromagnetic brakes for material series ICMm-1/2. Rolling stock (87 three-bogie train sets). The scope of supply of this European tender consits of: 1. Complete magnetic brake systems, i.e. control unit, power supply unit and brake unit for 87 three-bogie train sets as an integral delivery; 2. Recommended spare parts, the spare parts must be available for a period of 20 years after the contract completion date, e.g. last delivery. The detailed specifications of the above mentioned scope of supply will be published by NedTrain in the RFP phase. Here under listed you will find a brief description of the system required: System Design. A Magnetic track brake is installed on bogies 3, 4 and 5 (EMg-brake). The EMG-brake is triggered by a rapid braking sequence. This causes the magnetic brake cylinders to be pressurised and the pole shoes are pressed onto the rails. Simultaneously running an electric current through the magnet (-ising) coil of the magnetic brake, causes a magnetic field to be created which boosts the pressure of the pole shoes on the rails. This creates frictional resistance between the magnetic pole shoes and the rails. The pneumatic and electrical control of the electromagnetic brake is derived from the functionality as applied in the ICMm-3/4 rolling stock. The architecture of the EMg brake control on one bogie can be seen here. The magnetic brake installation in the drawing will be installed on 3 bogies. The control, housed in equipment boxes, will be mounted under the train set. System description: Once activated the magnetic brakes are pushed against the rails pneumatically and also electrically powered/boosted. This electrical power is provided by a 24V, 36Ah battery per bogie. The batteries are charged by a battery charger with an input voltage of 3*400V AC. This voltage is supplied by a power converter in the train set. The EMG brake is controlled using two independent methods: 1. Pneumatic. The pneumatic control is fed via a main reservoir (HR) pressure 8.5-10 bar and drives the magnetic pole shoes down when train line pressure (TL) drops. The pneumatic control then drives the electrical power for the magnetic brakes via pressure switches. 2. Electro-pneumatic. A contact in the brake valve in the cabin of the train set gives a switch-on command via the train circuit to the electrical controller. The electrical controller drives an electro-pneumatic valve upon which the train lines are bled causing the magnetic pole. Boundary conditions: — The magnetic coil of the EMg brake is only boosted if the pole shoes are on the rails, — The electrical booster of the EMg brake is switched off at speeds of less than 5km/h, — The EMG brake is switched off both pneumatically and electrically by one stop cock, — The EMG brake can be operated and tested on the spot using buttons on either side of the train set, in de direct vicinity of the corresponding bogie. Interfacing with existing installations/components: Please note that this European tender does not only apply to the ICMm-1/2 material series (project), but is also applicable to any other future refurbishment- and/or upgrade of other material series. These other material series are options, which NedTrain may, at its decretion, can exercise. These options are not only applicable to the normal duration of the contract of 2 (two) years but also to any addendum/extension for a period of 2 years. Candidates can derive no rights from these options. CPV: 34630000. ...
