Crossrail train operating concession services. Crossrail will connect the City, Canary Wharf, the West End and Heathrow Airport to commuter areas east and west of London. The operator of the Crossrail train services will take-on existing rail services (currently operated under a Franchise Agreement) and supplement these with services operating on new Crossrail Infrastructure and over existing networks to deliver a peak timetable of up to 30 trains per hour. The services include the supply of train and station operations, initially using existing leased rolling stock that will be substantially replaced by new rolling stock supplied by TfL. Other key activities include the recruitment and training of the personnel necessary for the provision of the rail services and the satisfactory attainment of safety certification to undertake trial operations and operate the Crossrail train services. The operator of the Crossrail train services will provide resources to support the introduction of the new rolling stock, depot and station facilities and the associated dynamic testing and commissioning activities.
