The Moor Public Realm Phase 2. The project comprises hard and soft landscaping works to provide an improved public realm on the Moor between Earl Street and Moorhead. This project seeks to continue on from the successful redevelopment of the lower Moor which completed in May 2010. All existing structures are to be demolished and the existing paving removed and replaced with high specification granite paving and granite setts. New street furniture is to be provided including benches, bollards, planters and litter bins. Existing trees are to be removed and new trees, both ground planted and container planted, provided together with associated grilles, uplighting and festoon lighting. A new streetlighting scheme will be created that is capable of also carrying colourwash lighting the buildings lining the Moor. Works will also provide an improved streetscene for the general public and improved frontages to the retail units along the Moor.
