Successful tenderers will be expected to implement catering options appropriate to the individual college requirements. In many cases the traditional refectory styled operation is an outdated option. Colleges will be looking for a modern catering offering with hot options, and a cafe type deli/sandwich bar offering a range of products similar to a typical popular high street chain outlet. To support the service option there is likely to be a need for a modern hot beverage service. Key to the success of the business will be to ensure all food is priced competitively, whilst not forgetting the needs of the Staff members. Meeting the healthy eating agenda will be fundamental to the service whilst menu options must be appealing to the needs of the student pallet. Successful tenderers will be invited to adopt an innovative approach to managing the business and be aware that once a contract has been secured there is a constant need to examine the business and look to improve the facilities offered. Tenderers may be asked to provide capital funding to support and enhance the catering service. The successful contractor will be asked how such funding will be made, this could be for example be an upfront payment taken out of annual returns over the duration of the contract. Alternatively equipment required may be purchased on a lease basis. Lot 1. Lot 1 will require the Tenderer to provide a fully managed catering service to include: Taking over the current staffing including all TUPE issues/responsibilities.
