ENTSO-E Power System Database / Network Modelling Database (ENTSO-E PSD / NMD). ENTSO-E is launching a project called "ENTSO-E Power System Database / Network Modelling Database" (ENTSO-E PSD / NMD). The scope of the contract will be to develop a secure ENTSO-E CIM-compliant data storage for electric network models of ENTSO-E (Network Modelling Database – NMD) taking into account the requirement that it should be possible to extend this system so that it can be used for the overall ENTSO-E data handling concept (Power System Database – PSD). Therefore, there is a necessity to base the development on a platform or on a framework that is sufficient, open and flexible to allow future adaptations or extensions of the used data model concepts, data handling processes and the interfaces with external parties– Transmission System Operators (TSOs). It is expected the project will significantly improve the existing data management processes in ENTSO-E. Therefore the main objective is to bring synergies by enhancing data handling efficiency and accuracy and reducing manpower requirements. At the same time, both transparency and confidentiality issues must be tackled. The NMD should provide ENTSO-E members with a platform which has a possibility to handle complexity of network models' management as well as exchange of necessary supplementary documentation. This also includes putting into operation an extensible set of functional modules used to validate, visualize and edit data and to track changes. The NMD must provide user interfaces for all experts (data correspondents, the ENTSO-E Secretariat and Working Groups) involved in the ENTSO-E network modelling activities.
