Provision of an Audio Visual System for Croydon Town Hall. Provision of a reliable audio system in the Town Hall and Council Chamber that is fit for multi-purpose, flexible space seating arrangements which can be integrated with modern communication equipment e.g., cameras, voting systems, display units and hearing loops and provide a/v in other meeting rooms on the 1st Floor of the Town Hall. Subject to robustness, reliability and cost, the Council would prefer a wireless system in order to preserve the historic fabric of the grade ii listed Town Hall. The Programme / Project Investment objectives are to procure an AV system that: 1. is modern, robust capable of being reconfigured on a daily basis; 2. can transmit sound from the Chamber into any/all other Committee Rooms, Mayor's Reception and Members' Lounge on the First Floor; 3. is compatible with the LCD screen; 4. can transmit pictures into the Chamber and other Committee Rooms and members lounge; 5. will maintain induction loop facilities; 6. provides some connectivity between all the Town Hall Committee Rooms; 7. provides a roving mic facility; and 8. improves the level of customer (citizen) satisfaction. The Heritage principles that must be followed are that: 1) a wireless system is preferable; 2) close attention is paid to the building's existing historic fabric, including all historic features and fittings; 3) the installation of the new system will have the least possible impact on this fabric, by way of limiting the amount of fixings and wiring to the absolute minimum; and that 4) the work is carried out by a Contractor with experience of working in a similar context of historic Listed Buildings.
