Oldham Council is committed to providing and developing waste reduction and recycling activities as stated in its Environmental Policy and Waste Management Strategy 2011. To assist in the achievement of these commitments Oldham Council provides its residents with a free bulky collection service for a number of larger household items (please see attached list of "collected items" Appendix 1). Over the last 5 years this service has been contracted to Bulky Bob's part of the Furniture Resource Centre Group (FRC Group). This contract is scheduled to conclude in June 2010. Oldham Council is keen to receive tender submissions containing proposals that are able to undertake and potentially improve on the previous bulky waste collection contract.
