UK-Darlington: civil engineering consultancy services
Academies Programme – Technical & Design Advice. Civil engineering consultancy services. The provision of Technical & Design advice to the Department for Education in relation to a number of Academy projects. The projects covered by this contract are those procured during the initial phase of the Academy programme, and which are nearing completion. When Academy status was approved for these initial projects, the Department appointed Design Teams to individual projects, and once the Academy Trust was established, following the approval of a Funding Agreement, the Design Team worked with the Academy Trust to deliver new and/or refurbished buildings. Procurement was the responsibility of the Academy Trust. As the major provider of capital funds, the Department needed to ensure as far as possible value for money and the delivery of the Academies on time and within budget. To do so, it was necessary to appoint external advisers, as the Department no longer retained in-house expertise. Although this element of the Academies programme is nearing its conclusion, Technical and Design advice will be required until the projects have been completed both practically and financially. The Department is looking to appoint one provider to ensure delivery of the remaining projects ensuring value for money and the delivery of the Academy on time and within budget. CPV: 71311000. ...
