Telecommunications System Maintenance & Support Services. The Scottish Government (SG) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced and competitive supplier of the provision of Telecommunications Systems Maintenance and Support Services. Maintenance services are required for a range of PABX systems plus Siemens OUCS IPT hardware, used by the SG and other Public Bodies, NDPB's and Agencies. The current scope of the contract covers hardware maintenance only for our older TDM systems. Telephony services are used at all Scottish Government locations and an internal network also interconnects the larger offices. As part of its Shared Services initiative, the SG's in-house ICT service provider, Information Services and Information Systems (ISIS), provides IT and telephony services to other publicly funded organisations. It is anticipated that this contract will underpin and support the delivery of such services. It is the intention that Public Bodies, NDPB's and Agencies may look to migrate to this new contract as and when they reach the conclusion of their current contractual arrangements. At their own discretion, Public Bodies, NDPB's and Agencies may opt to terminate their current contractual arrangements early, should they decide this to be in their best interests. The SG does not guarantee that any or all of the Public Bodies, NDPB's and Agencies within the central government family will opt to use this Contract, nor does the SG guarantee any volumes of usage throughout the life of this Contract. The current IPT systems maintenance and services are provided on an annual rolling basis. The SG require a new contract with a wider scope which will cover our telephony needs going forward and the new contract will include: — maintenance of Legacy TDM system, — maintenance of the IPT system, — software assurance for IPT system, — supply of additional IPT equipment (optional). The SG recognises that some of the PABX system hardware is approaching obsolescence therefore commitment to both maintain and support the equipment for the entire duration of the contract or to provide a more cost effective solution that ensures continued value for money is essential. Working with the successful contractor, aims to reduce the overall cost of the ownership of these systems, whilst maintaining or improving the service levels and range of support services.
