A framework agreement of suitably qualified and experienced contractors to carry out building, decorating, mechanical, electrical installation and electrical inspection and testing works and services at the University of Durham. Works within these categories will be limited to individual orders from 1 GBP to 150 thousand GBP The University reserve the right to rank suppliers based upon their hourly rate, the cost of a sample project and their cost plus percentage. Cost plus is the combined percentage of on costs and profit which would be applied to an open book job cost. The University also reserves the right to conduct an eAuction if required or appropriate. Minor building works contractors will be required to provide a broad scope of minor building and construction works. A non exhaustive list of the work types this contract may cover include refurbishments, maintenance, alterations, excavation, concrete work, brick work, paving, minor non structural steelwork, general roofing, woodwork, plastering, partitioning, suspended ceilings, general building works and the provision of day work labour. Minor electrical works Contractors will be required to provide a broad scope of minor electrical engineering works. A non exhaustive list of the work types this contract may cover include: electrical maintenance of power, internal and external lighting, emergency lighting systems. Rewiring and installation of power, lighting, fire detection systems, heating controls, air handling equipment, general electrical works and the provision of day work labour. Electrical Inspection and testing the works shall include: periodic inspection and testing of electrical installation at approximately 250 university properties, in accordance with the current addition of the IEE wiring regulations, BS 7671. 2008. The work is to be carried out over a 5 year period. Remedial works identified during inspection and testing. Minor mechanical works contractors will be required to provide a broad scope of minor mechanical and plumbing works. A non exhaustive list of the work types this contract may cover include gas work testing, installation, repairs both natural and specialist, Installation, maintenance and repairs to domestic and commercial heating systems, including gas and oil fired boilers. Ventilation work. General plumbing including installation maintenance and repairs. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) Helicopter Engines Project Team (HEPT) has a requirement for the provision of support for the Digital Electronic Control Unit (DECU) fitted to the Chinook helicopter platform, as part of the engine's Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) system. The period of contract is for 15 months plus an option for a one year extension. The Chinook helicopter entered service in the early 1980s and has an endorsed Out of Service Date (OSD) of 2040. The current fleet size is 46 airframes. All airframes have 2 engines (either T55-L-712F or 55-L-714A) and each engine has a FADEC consisting of a Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) part of which is the DECU (Pt Nos 2-170-560-05 or 2-170-560-09).
