The intention is to change from manual urine microscopy to an automated analyser capable of the enumeration, classification and quantification of urine particles. In addition to replacing manual microscopy it is essential to be able to report a negative urine result "not requiring culture" shortly after analysis. Automated blood culture system. The Microbiology Department is looking to increase the capacity that it can offer to test blood cultures. The system must provide continuous monitoring of blood cultures, be automated, and offer the ability to vary the incubation length of specific bottles.
