YiA - European Voluntary Service training provision. This is a voluntary part B services notice. The British Council is seeking to contract an outstanding supplier for the provision of training services as part of the Youth in Action programmes EVS training and evaluation cycle. The British Council is the UKs National Agency for the Youth in Action programme (2007 - 2013), which is funded by the European Union and provides young people with a variety of opportunities for non-formal and informal learning with a european dimension. The programme is divided into 5 actions, one of which - the European Voluntary Service (EVS) - offers young people (18-30) the opportunity to volunteer abroad, primarily in Europe, for a period of two to twelve months. The European Voluntary Service is supported by a structured training and evaluation programme, also known as the EVS training and evaluation cycle, which consists of four components: — pre-departure training, — on-arrival training, — mid-term evaluation, — post-return evaluation. All 4 components have the same overall aim (e.g. enabling volunteers to make the most of their EVS experience) but each training has specific objectives.
