UK-Bristol: weapons, ammunition and associated parts
Enabler for the Procurement and Supply of Various Ammunition Containers. Expression of interest. Enabling Contract for Ammunition Containers. 1. In support of conventional munitions manufacture and stock management, the Defence General Munitions Project Team (DGM PT) is seeking expressions of interest for the supply of initially a limited number of metal Ammunition Containers on an Enabling Contract basis. The contract will be reviewed after 3 years; where a possible 2 year follow on option will be considered. 2. Due to the number of items and differing material types, the enabling contract will initially consist of 2 main based material type sections (Metal [including Aluminium] and Non Metal [at this point only Wood is currently in the section) with the possibility of extending to a further 'Miscellaneous' material type at a later date. — metal containers (predominately Steel based) – Carrier 29 complete with H84 Mk1, H83 Mk2, M548 and B192 Mk2 containers – extending to possibly a further 10 other containers. Note A completed delivery of quantity 20,000 H83 Mk2 ammunition containers will be needed by the third quarter of 2012. — metal containers (predominately Aluminium based) – N54 container – extending to possibly a further 3 other containers, — non metal Containers (predominately Hard Wood based) – initially N18 Mk2 and N56 Mk2 containers - extending to possibly a further 4 other containers. Companies are encouraged to advise what specific items they could provide from each material type list, as it is expected that not all companies will be able to provide all items on a list. 3. Given that these items will be used to assist in the housing of munitions potential tenders will be assessed by their responses to the following evaluation criteria. a. Evidence of previous experience in the manufacture and supply of ammunition containers This to include container or packaging types and quantities. b. Evidence which supports the required capability and capacity to provide a programme of work and surge quantities with the quality required. Evidence is also to include: i. tooling information - i.e. tooling already held for proposed containers and the ability to supply new (in house or by sub-contractor). ii. fabrication and machining facilities (where needed). c. Previous customer references and recommendations. 4. Whilst the Authority does not rule out working with a single contractor, the preference is to work with a number of companies because of the magnitude of business and specific nature of the work. It should be noted that the preferred tender panel will be limited to a maximum of 6 bidders per main material type being utilised i.e. 'metal' and 'non metal'. 5. Potential suppliers should be certified to ISO 9001:2000 with appropriate scope covering design, development and production. 6. A pre ITT together with a contract award visit by representatives from DGM PT will also be requirement. CPV: 35300000. ...
