Dstl Porton Down, on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), has a requirement for the storage and testing of 1 current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) Master Cell Bank (MCB) and 1 cGMP Working Cell Bank (WCB) used in the manufacture of recombinant F1 and recombinant V antigens. The MCB and WCB have been manufactured using Escherichia coli as the expression host for Dstl. The MCB and WCB will be provided to the Contractor. Dstl require a Contractor to transfer the MCB and WCB, from the current UK storage facility to an appropriate UK facility to be determined through this competition. The Contractor will be required to store and test the MCB and WCB according to the requirements of cGMP. The MCB and WCB must be stored by the Contractor, frozen (-80ºC), in two separate freezers. The requirement is then for an appropriate storage and stability study for the period September 2011-December 2017 to be undertaken. At each specified time-point, samples from the MCB and WCB will be tested by the Contractor using the agreed suite of in-vitro assays for Viability, Purity and Plasmid Retention. The assay methodology for the characterisation will be transferred to the Contractor for use on the requirement.
