UK-Derby: miscellaneous services
Integrated Service to Support Vulnerable Migrants Newly Arrived & Manage Transitional Impacts Caused. Tenders are invited for the supply of an integrated service to support vulnerable migrants who are newly arrived in the City of Derby and to manage the transitional impacts caused by this migration on services. Derby City and Neighbourhood Partnerships (DCNP) wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Supplier. Tenders are required from individual organisations or a consortium of organisations working in partnership to deliver the service. The service will provide a co-ordinated response to address the following key elements which will mitigate the pressures faced by services and the community impacts caused by legal migration. 1. Community Leadership/capacity building from within Roma/East European families/groups – to offer a longer term structure/set of relationships with Roma people prepared to settle and to open the dialogues with other resident populations and ease the pathway into services for newer arrivals. 2. English Language - community-based English language provision (longer term) and interpreting support (shorter term) focussed in the heart of the community and located where it is accessible to East European and other migrants. 3. Benefits/housing eligibility advice - strengthening the benefits assessment process – dedicated or specialist advisory roles in the community - now that the A8 restrictions have been lifted to help manage the transitional impacts on this and take the pressure from public services. 4. New Arrivals Signposting and Support/liaison Work – quick pick up of new arrivals, direct provision of information on rights, expectations, responsibilities. Orientate people to appropriate services, welcome them etc, find out what problems people have etc. Locality-based and feed into cohesion/neighbourhood arrangements and tasking.
