North East Procurement Internal Works Installation Framework. The notice involves the establishment of a framework agreement: yes North East Procurement (NEP) are procuring a Framework Agreement for the provision of planned maintenance and investment works to social housing properties. However, it is envisaged that works may be required for other activities such as voids. These works shall be required predominantly across the North East of England, North Yorkshire, and City of York primarily. However works may be required in other areas of the UK. It is the intention of NEP to split the available work into packages, defined by work type with the aim of encouraging participation from a wide spectrum of companies with a range of capacity levels. The works will include, but not be limited to the replacement and upgrade of: Kitchens (Lot 1). Bathrooms (Lot 2). Boilers and heating systems (Lot 3). Electrical works (Lot 4). Windows and doors installation (Lot 5). Whole house internals (Lot 6). NEP has already established a number of frameworks for the materials. The purpose of this procurement process is to establish a framework of contractors who will work on an install only basis or a directed supply and install basis to complement the materials framework. The frameworks entered into will be managed by NEP and all members, either current or future, will be entitled to call off individual contracts pursuant to the framework agreement. Any such contract will be held, managed and supervised by the individual member organisation making the call off. Expressions of interest are sought from suitably experienced companies who would like to enter into the Framework Agreements. The proposed Framework Agreement shall be put in place for a maximum period of 4 years. The current NEP labour frameworks are due to expire in March 2013 and will continue to be used for NEP members subject to capacity and value for money. The new framework is anticipated to be active from June 2012 in order to manage increased capacity requirements due to the growth of NEP and additional programme identified by members and to address the loss of capacity on the current frameworks due to insolvency of some contractors and consolidation within the market. It is envisaged that the framework will be available for use by NEP members and other partners, and customers, both current and future. This may include any registered social housing provider in the UK. The ensuing Framework Agreements will be available for access by one or more Local Authorities including Unitary Authorities, Local Government ALMOs, Registered Social Landlords, any other category of Social Landlord.
