UK-Bristol: radiation monitors
Transportable reactor emergency monitoring system (TREMS). Radiation monitors. Radiation monitors. Radiation monitors. The Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear (CBRN) Delivery Team (DT) are equipment sponsors for radiation detection monitoring equipment. The Authority has a requirement to provide a replacement for its gamma radiation monitoring capability, adjacent to a nuclear powered warship, when berthed at UK authorised berths both in the UK and overseas. A transportable reactor emergency monitoring system (TREMS) is required that should be configurable for use on both deployed berths and permanently installed operation on UK dockside facilities. At deployed berths, one detector unit and one remote display unit will be used. For dockside use, multiple detector units and two remote, concurrent display units will be used. The detector units shall be suitable for placing unattended on a berth by use of tamper proof and theft proofing features. This unit shall be physically robust and capable of operating in a wide range of environmental conditions including extreme weathers. Communication between detector and display units shall be configurable as either wired or wireless. The system shall log data, provide continuous update of current readings at the display unit, and provide function for display of trends in reading. It shall be possible to export the data records and trend data to printer and emergency reporting systems. The in-service support solution shall be for a minimum duration of 5 years, plus the potential for two 5 year extensions. The Authority invites expressions of interest from industry, for the development, demonstration, supply and support of TREMS that can meet the capability.
