154/MVT Spherical Large Volume Scanner The University of Sheffields' Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (NAMRC) is undertaking research within the aerospace and energy sectors. As part of the equipment strategy for the department, a "spherical large volume scanner" is required. The system will be used to scan aerospace structures and large components / assemblies from the energy industry. This specification is aimed at purchasing a single scanner. It should be recognised the AMRC and NAMRC are non-profit making research facilities, and therefore the facility will provide a good "shop window" for suppliers. It is expected that suppliers will provide long term support for the equipment at limited or no additional cost including application engineering, programming and upgrades. The equipment should be suitable for scanning a features at 30 metre range, caputuring points with a density of <2mm at 10 metre range, accuracy of <1mm at 10 metre range.
