High Speed Cell Sorter For the Isolation of Stromal Cells. Supply and Installation of a High Speed Sorter. High-speed sorting is essential in order to obtain sufficient cells when they are only a very minimal component (sometimes <0.001 %) of a population, and to maximize the viability of sorted cells. A sorting rate of up to 70 000 events per second or greater will be required. The capacity for 14-parameter (12 colours plus forward and side scatter) sorting is essential in order to achieve maximum fractionation of discrete homogenous cell populations. High-energy lasers will also be a requirement in order to achieve maximum sensitivity, especially in relation to the sorting of fibroblast subsets. Cell populations to be sorted will vary considerably, for example in the heterogeneity of the cell mix (leukocyte, fibroblast, endothelium, epithelium), the frequency of the cells to be purified, the size of the cells required and whether they are of animal or human origin. The fact that the latter may be obtained from patients that could harbour infectious agents makes biosafety an important issue. Other required features of the machine are sample temperature control, 4-way sorting and single cell deposition. CPV: 38000000. ...

The supplier will supply safety equipment and consumables (Safety Equipment) such as camping gear, harnesses, lifejackets, trauma first aid packs, flak jackets and helmets. Some of these items may be owned by the BBC and the supplier will manage their maintenance, issue and return. Other Safety Equipment will be bought or hired from the supplier as required. The supplier will have a system in place to allow BBC staff to order items and to be invoiced. This will preferably be an online system. The BBC currently has a store held at Television Centre W12. Supplier and BBC owned Safety Equipment are supplied from this store. The successful supplier will be expected to operate an equivalent service from this store at commencement of contract for a period of time as required by the BBC. During the contract period, the store will be closed as part of a wider evacuation of BBC Television Centre. The supplier will be expected to manage the closure of this store and transfer the service to an off site provision. Once the store is closed, Safety Equipment supplied to the BBC will be held off site at supplier premises with the exception of nominated items that are required immediately on demand. These will be held in a small storage area (approx. 20 m²) on BBC premises. The supplier will liaise with the BBC to ensure stock is controlled and maintained in the BBC storage area. There may be the option to allow the supplier to have access to a touch down desk at the new W1 site. This is to be confirmed. Despite the service being off site, the supplier will have a facility in place to allow BBC users to try on certain items such as boots and coats before hire or purchase as required. During the transition from Television Centre to the new W1 premises, certain departments such as Newsgathering Operations may be situated in various London locations.
