The provision of engineering management services for the EU High Research (HiPER) project, & the STFC Centre for advanced laser technology and applications (CALTA) project. HiPER is a proposed European High Power laser energy research facility dedicated to demonstrating the feasibility of laser driven fusion as a future energy source. The preparatory phase of the HiPER project commenced in April 2008 and completes in June 2013. The end of the phase coincides with a planned proof of principle demonstration of the physics of laser driven fusion at the National Ignition Facility, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, USA.
