Midland metro tram procurement. The contracting entity requires the supply of trams to operate a 6-minute service on the existing Midland Metro network and on future extensions. The Midland Metro network is an electrically powered light rail system currently comprising a single route between Birmingham Snow Hill and Wolverhampton St George's. The contracting entity intends to extend the Midland Metro network into Birmingham city centre (the "New route"). The contracting entity wishes to procure 19 trams. The trams supplied will need to meet a required specification. The existing fleet of trams are Ansaldo Breda. Type T69s, which came into service in 1999. It is intended that the existing fleet will be replaced, through a managed transition, by the trams supplied under this procurement. In addition to the supply of trams, the supplier will be expected to provide agreed quantities of associated spares, parts, specialist equipment and tooling. The supplier will be invited (but not required) to submit a proposal for the provision of maintenance services (to include emergency repair) in respect of the trams supplied, to take the form of an option exercisable by the contracting entity and, potentially, also by the operator of the Midland Metro network for the time being. The interface between the terms of the tram supply contract and other contracts entered into by the contracting entity in respect of the Midland Metro network is a significant consideration. In particular, the contracting entity may seek to novate certain contractual rights and obligations to specified third parties (for example to the operator of the network for the time being, or the contractor appointed to design and construct the New Route or some other extension). The supplier may also, or in the alternative, be required to agree and enter direct warranties or other agreements with such third parties. Development plan fv. (County road) 118, the Sarps Bridge/St. Mariegate Bridge. The existing St.Mariegate Bridge shall be replaced with a new structure downstream and against the existing bridge. The assignment includes preparation of a development plan which are technically detailed enough to determine the structure principle for a new bridge, provide information of geotechnics and foundation conditions as well as lateral demarcations which ensure both traffic flow and satisfactory working conditions during the construction period. The project is considered complex and demanding. The project area included in this project stretches from the square at the monument (before the actual Sarpsfossen waterfall) to the traffic light facing the city side. Total length of the existing bridge is 79 metres, whilst the new bridge will have a length of approx. 113 metres (see the sketch proposal attached the tender notice in Doffin). It is the last part of the stretch Værnes – Havnekrysset. The contract consists of three construction objects with various geographical locations: "Dagsone E14", "Driftsvegkulvert" for Avinor and "Ringveg Nord, parsell A". The total amount included is approx. 400 m of 4 lane road, 950 m foot/cycle path.
